Yet another harvest season is on our doorstep!
Aren't you waiting for an interesting and meaningful event to happen?

We, at the Schoolhouse, are happy to host our 3rd annual charity event Slow Food Saturday on Saturday September 22nd. On that day, there will be local chestnut harvesting classes, local rainbow trout raising classes, an orchard walk activity and several food demonstrations showcasing traditional ways of cooking and, of course, using a variety of local plants.

We are honored to work with the Beijing Slow Food Convivium this year to encourage more people to learn about Slow Food and why Slow Food is so important to our daily life. The Schoolhouse will donate all proceeds to the Slow Food Beijing Convivium this year.

We will be offering a free shuttle bus around the 4 villages of Mutianyu, Tianxianyu, Beigou and Xinying on the day of event (please find the time table below). But if you are keener to rent a bicycle to explore around, we will also have our Bicycle Rental Partner, Bicycle Kingdom, renting bikes for a fee, please be sure to reserve your bike before the event on http://www.bikebeijing.com/slowfoodsaturday.html. They will bring the bikes to Mutianyu. IN this way, we are helping to facilitate bike rentals for the day's event. But, please be aware that YOU need to pre-arrange the bike rental.

Shuttle bus schedule:

Remarks: Roadhouse is in between Beigou, Mutianyu and Tianxianyu. The bus stop will be at each village town hall, bus can stop on the way if guests are willing to be dropped off.

Registration fee:

Rmb240: includes Slow Food membership, Slow Food T-Shirt, whole set of food chits (valued as Rmb35), and bus to and from Beijing (from Chao Yang trek store). Payment will be collected on the bus to Mutianyu.
Rmb200 (for slow food member only): includes Slow Food T-Shirt, whole set of food chits (valued as Rmb35), and bus to and from Beijing (from Chao Yang trek store). Payment will be collected on the bus to Mutianyu.
Rmb170: includes Slow Food membership, Slow Food T-Shirt, whole set of food chits (valued as Rmb35). Payment will be collected upon arrival at reception table.
Rmb130 (for slow food member only): includes Slow Food T-Shirt, whole set of food chits (valued as Rmb35). Payment will be collected upon arrival at reception table.
Children under 4 years old will be free, but do not receive a gift bag (t-shirt, food chits, bus), if the child requires a separate seat on the bus, then the cost will be Rmb80/pax
